Tanum: A Story of Bumping Lake and the William O. Douglas Wilderness

Summit Cyr, Susan: - Artist Susan Summit Cyr feels extremely fortunate to live half of the year with her husband Tom next to Bumping Lake in the historic Bumping Lake Resort lodge. An avid hiker, horsewoman, and bicyclist, she has traversed most of the trails and terrain of the magnificent William O. Douglas Wilderness.

Drawing on her background in biology and training as an educator, she conducts field trips and presentations on both the living natural environment and the compelling human history of this unique pocket of Washington State. When not painting or writing, she is usually exploring somewhere in the mountains, looking closely and listening intently, trying to better understand the language of nature. Tanum is her first full-length book.
